One thing certain to happen to Arsenal over the course of the transfer window is the arrival of a couple of players. Granit Xhaka’s services have been secured, and we could see Wenger land about 2 or 3 more signings. Importantly, a striker tops the list of the North London’s club most-wanted arrivals, and a defender also looks to be in frame of what they need as plans for a better outing next term are afoot. The departure of the likes of Flamini, Rosicky, Arteta makes squad addition a must. Welbeck is out for the next 8 months, while the Walcott, Chambers, and Chamberlain have been linked with exits as playing time have become to come by.

Will Vardy sign for Arsenal? That has been the question on everybody’s lips following the confirmation that the club had triggered the £20million release clause of the 29-year-old Leicester City player. However, he is yet to make up his mind as he didn’t sign before leaving for France. With the chances of that happening quite not ascertained, Wenger is planning a plan B in PSG’s Edinson Cavani according to the Express Sports. The Uruguayan is set to leave the French giants after failing to get his desired playing position upfront, and has set his eyes on the EPL. The 29-year-old former Napoli striker is said to have turned down a £500,000-a-week move to China in order to remain in Europe. A couple of clubs will definitely lineup to have his services once he confirms he wants to leave France, and if Arsenal have that all-round wherewithal to convince him remains unknown. If they can’t land Vardy or Cavani, then it could be another season with only Olivier Giroud upfront.

Per Mertersacker won’t be seeing much of game time next season, and his replacement, Gabriel hasn’t really been impressive. The club wants to bring in another defender, and it has been reported that a £15million bid is being prepared for Albania international, Elseid Hysaj. The Napoli defender has attracted the big clubs with his versatility and defensive qualities, and Arsenal are keen to have him. The 22-year-old is also being targeted by Chelsea and Manchester United. Primarily a right-back, Hysaj is also able to play in central defence, and with doubts still looming over Bellerin’s future following the Barcelona links, landing such quality defender is necessary. His performance for Napoli last term, and for his country during the Euros qualifiers were impressive, and he will sure be a quality addition for the Gunners.

Elneny’s national teammate, Ramadan Sobhi has long been linked with Arsenal. The teenage Al Alhy sensation was close to a trials during the winter transfers as Wenger considered a move, but Stoke City seem to have taken their chances, and Ramadan could be theirs. The 18-year-old midfielder was crucial for Egypt as they secured qualifications for the African Nations Cup, and is also an integral member of Al Alhy. His form has also attracted Serie A side, AS Roma, and if Arsenal have a chance is being doubted.
