Just like regular working humans at times wish to leave their current work for a better one for reasons ranging from better pay to fulfilment and competition, footballers also want to leave their old clubs for new adventures every now and then. The transfer window presents the perfect opportunity to get that dream materialized, and here are 3 players who yearn for a transfer away from their current sides.

Unsurprisingly, the England international still wants to leave Goodison Park after the club kept him against his wishes last summer. The 22-year-old central back saw up to 3 transfer requests rejected as he pushed for a Stamford Bridge switch, but he now has a different destination in mind. The Etihad stadium. The Daily Mail confirms that a move to link up with Pep Guardiola at City is on the books, with the Manchester club ready to splash £50million on the former Barnsley defender. Having missed out on Atletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte and seen their bid for Juve’s Bonucci rejected, the noisy neighbours want to go all out for Stones. Guardiola already identified him as one of his top targets, and given his admiration of working with youngsters, the club’s pursuit will most likely yield a positive result. Everton will only sell for the right price though and any offer deemed not good enough will see the defender remain at the Merseyside outfit.

The 26-year-old midfielder wants to leave Newcastle after their demotion to the Championships at the end of last season. Loosing a couple of their players was always bound to happen to the Magpies, and they will let the France international depart for the right fees. Despite having earlier revealed his desires to make an Emirates switch, French publication Foot Mercato say Liverpool seem to be his latest option though a move to Borussia Dortmund or Tottenham is also being considered. A desire to remain in the EPL might see him shun advances from the Bundesliga outfit, but the promise of Champions League and regular football could tempt him. Newcastle are said to have slammed a £21.5million price on their star player who has thus far impressed in his 4 appearances at the Euros.

The Italy international wants to leave Turin according to reports by The Sun. The Juventus defender is being courted by Manchester City and Chelsea, with the former planning a new bid after seeing their initial £38million rejected. The Blues look like his preferable destination because of his former club and country handler, Conte, but they must be willing to match City’s planned new offer said to be around £51million. Both sides wish to bolster their defence ahead of next season and it’s understandable why they are battling for Bonucci’s services given his quality. His performances as Italy took France by storm were top-notch, and was solid rock for the Azzuri defensively and offensively. Juve aren’t keen to let one of their integral members depart, and it will take a lot of convincing to let him go despite his years of service.

I learned all about life with a ball at my feet. Soccer allows me to push the limitation of creativity and express myself without saying a word. Soccer is my addiction. I train. I play, and I repeat every single day.
