As business continues to thrive in the summer transfer market, some deals are close to seeing the light of the day as certain signs and other factors prove they aren’t just rumour or mere speculations. Here are 5 of them making the rounds in the last 24 hours.
AHMED MUSA TO LEICESTER CITY
The 24-year-old CSKA Moscow forward is set to take his medicals on Tuesday with the Kings Power outfit after both clubs agreed to a £16million record transfer fees. The Nigeria international plays primarily as a winger on both flanks, but can also be deployed as a striker due to his keen eye for goals. A frequent member of the Russian giants starting 11, Musa has had a couple of Champions League experience that will come handy when the EPL champions take on other European sides next season. The forward who scored 13 times in 30 appearances is also known for his pace and will almost surely become Vardy’s new partner upfront. He rejected advances from the likes of Southampton, Everton and West Ham before agreeing to Leicester’s.
JUAN MATA TO EVERTON
The Spanish midfielder won’t be at Old Trafford due to the history between him and the new handler. He is inching towards a Goodison Park swoop in a deal said to be worth around £20million although he is also on PSG’s radar, with Unai Emery interested in landing the number 10. The 28-year-old former Chelsea star featured in all of the Red Devils 38 league games last season and will be a great addition to any club he goes. But it will most likely be to Ronald Koeman’s side as the club’s new owner wants to make them a formidable side next season.
BENTEKE TO CRYSTAL PALACE
Alan Pardew is keen on bringing the wantaway Liverpool striker to the Selhurst Park after they missed out on new Chelsea signing, Mitchy Batshuayi. Palace have plans to offer an improved deal worth £31.5million for the former Aston Villa hitman, and the deal looks set to come to fruition as he’s considered surplus to requirements at Anfield. Despite arriving for £32.5million last summer, Benteke wasn’t able to establish himself and fit into the club’s style of place. An exit is very likely.
JANSSEN TO TOTTENHAM
The Netherlands international clearly wants a move to the White Hart Lane and has made his interest known to AZ. West Ham recently launched a €20 million bid for the Eredivisie goalscoring machine, and PSG are also keen to land him, but he has rejected both offers and is waiting for his club to accept Tottenham’s bids after rejecting earlier ones.
KOULIBALY TO CHELSEA
The Napoli defender is set to switch to Chelsea after the Serie A admitted they wouldn’t be able to hold on to him any longer. A deal worth £30million is said to have been agreed by both clubs and the transfer will be completed in few days’ time for the Senegal international. Conte has identified the central back as a candidate able to suit his formation that deploys a 3-man centre back.
