Premier League high-flyers Tottenham Hotspur are readying a bid for FC Porto full-back Ricardo Pereira, Sky Sports can reveal.

Spurs expect to stay without Kyle Walker, who has become a top target for Manchester City, and they see the Portuguese defender as a very good replacement.

Tottenham scouts watched the 23-year-old on a number of occasions during his two-year loan spell with Nice, and Spurs look set to make their move.

According to Sky Sports, the Premier League side plan to match a £22 million release clause in his contract.

Ricardo Pereira was in fine form last season, having managed 2 goals and 4 assists in 24 league outings.

At the same time, Tottenham are considering a summer move on Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon.
