After a disappointing 1-0 loss at home against Celta Vigo last weekend, Barcelona pulled up their socks to get back to their winning spirit after beating Ajax Amsterdam 2-0.

Lionel Messi was the man to watch as his fans expected him to break Raul’s record of 71 goals in the champions’ league. Despite being at home, Ajax were out-muscled by Barcelona with Messi scoring a brace to reach Raul’s record.

It is quite a tight race between Messi and real Madrid star, christiano Ronaldo who is currently at 70 goals. Messi 70th goal came in the 36th minute while Raul equalizer came in in the 76th minute following a superb cross from Substitute Pedro.

Barcelona dominated the match and both Suarez and Neymar had several opportunities, but Ajax defense and goal keeper denied them a chance to get to the score sheet. Winning the match on Wednesday night means Barcelona have qualified for the last 16 together with Paris St German who emerged victorious in France after beating Apoel.

The race between Messi and christiano might get interesting after Ronaldo promised his fans to do the best he can during his stay at real Madrid. He received the European golden boot award on Wednesday after scoring the most goals in Europe local leagues.

I learned all about life with a ball at my feet. Soccer allows me to push the limitation of creativity and express myself without saying a word. Soccer is my addiction. I train. I play, and I repeat every single day.
