Manchester City are beaten by West Ham United at Upton Park as their title defense suffers a setback. Manchester City are now 5 points behind the leaders Chelsea and could be 8 points down after the Chelsea-Manchester United game tomorrow. Morgan Amalfitano started the scoring for the home side as he slid home from a Enner Valencia cross from the left. West Ham looked spirited and showed a lot of intent to win the ball in the midfield.

Diafro Sakho added another goal for the Hammers to double the lead. He headed the ball past Joe Hart from a Cresswell pass to make the lead more comfortable. The goal was confirmed by the goal line technology. Manchester City kept creating and attacking the wet ham goal in the second half. Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero both hit the bar before David Silva superbly scored cutting in from the left to reduce the lead. A late city onslaught was unable to produce a goal which sent them to their second league defeat this season.

This is Manchester City’s second loss of the season. They lost at home to Stoke prior to their loss today. They also dropped points against Chelsea. Manchester City haven’t looked great this season and if Chelsea win against Manchester United tomorrow, the title defense can be a difficult ask for the Manchester City at this early stage of the league.

Paul Koroma

I learned all about life with a ball at my feet. Soccer allows me to push the limitation of creativity and express myself without saying a word. Soccer is my addiction. I train. I play, and I repeat every single day.
