The 4th and 6th placed teams are only separated by a 3-point margin, and the Monday night clash slated for October 17 is expected to be tough and entertaining as they come.

The EPL player of the month nominee for the month of September picked up nasty groin knock early in the opening minutes against Swansea last weekend. The midfielder has been very vital to the side’s directness in attack this term, and has contributed 2 goals and 2 assists thus far. Would be sorely missed.
Liverpool’s backline has been kept together by the leadership and experience of the Croatian, but his bouts of injuries have hampered his participation more than once.
He missed the 4 – 1 trouncing of Hull City through a viral infection, and had to play against Leicester with the discomfort of a swollen eyes. And he is likely to miss the United crash due to a groin strain that also saw him withdraw from national team duties.
The former Dortmund assist machine has been out of action since the Manchester Derby, and despite showing signs of recovery from a thigh injury he aggravated against City, he could still be kept out until further notice to prevent repeating further strain on the muscle. The Armenian remains a doubtful for the crunch.
The Liverpool youngster full back is yet to feature in a league game for Klopp. He missed a large chunk of last season to injury, and has been out of action since last year’s October due to an Achilles injury. He’s no way near a return.
Daley Blind has stood in for the former Southampton full back since his groin injury against Watford. And he hasn’t been invited for the England squad because of fitness issues having also suffered a flu recently. If Jose will decide to use him against the Reds or stick with the Dutch remains to be seen.
Liverpool’s first choice right back has played through the discomforts of a knee injury in recent games, but he has given in to a further strain and wasn’t picked for the England games as a result. Chances are he won’t be available for selection against United for safety sake even if he nears full fitness by then.
The central half is yet to make an appearance under Mourinho this season, and remains ruled out indefinitely due to a knee ligament injury. Not expected to be available for Liverpool.
