In a tough entertaining match between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, 3 players from Bayern were injured. Thiago Alcantara, Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben all picked injuries from the match and now awaiting more checkups to determine their fate.

All this happened on Tuesday during a DFB pokal match where Borussia Dortmund emerged victorious after winning a penalty shoot-out. The condition of the three players is yet to be confirmed making it clear if they will feature in a champion’s league semifinal match against Barcelona next week. In the 16th minute, Robben was substituted after his return from a month out following an abdominal injury.

Thiago also left the pitch early after he was seen limping to what was believed to be a problem with the calf muscle. Minutes after the match, Pep Guardiola said that Lewandowski was hospitalized after suffering a concussion. This happened in the 116th minute when he collided with Mitch Langerak, Dortmund goalkeeper.

Despite remaining in the game, he was absent in the shootout where Bayern lost 4 of their penalties which was a surprise to many. Other players to miss the crucial first leg match against Barcelona are David Alaba who is out with a knee injury and Frank Ribery, who is dealing with an ankle injury.
