Llkay Gundogan, Borussia Dortmund midfielder is planning not to renew his contract with the club once it expires in 2016. The Bundesliga side has announced that Llkay Gundogan will leave the club at the end of next season if not before then.

Llkay, 24 has for a long time been associated with a move away from Borussia, with reports revealing a potential move to the red devils. However, the rumors about his move to Manchester united emerged lately after his contract at Bundesliga approached an end.

The club announced the news only 2 weeks after Jurgen Klopp, Borussia head coach claimed that he will step down this summer. Since Llkay Gundogan returned in October last year from a 14 month threatening back injury, he has made a total of 28 appearances for the club, but only three of them as a starter.

From the 28 matches, the German international has managed 3 goals and made a number of assists. In March this year, he returned to his German national team after missing 2014 world cup in Brazil where his country won the title. However, following his lengthy absence from the pitch, Llkay Gundogan has not yet regained his form which had seen him among the best youngsters in 2013.
