Everton declare the signing of Samuel Eto’o. The Cameroon international, 33, joins the Toffees on a two-year deal, much to the joy of manager Roberto Martinez.
Martinez told the team’s official site: ‘I met Eto’o and we had an excellent chat about football in general and I was impressed about the hunger he has.
Eto’o added: “I am quite happy to be here, I’m considerably looking forward to putting on the Blue shirt of Everton. He Also praise Roberto Martinez by saying “I was impressed with his enthusiasm but also by the knowledge of football that Roberto Martinez carries.”
Prior to committing his future to Goodison Park, Eto’o had been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and Roma, but the player looks more than happy — some might say delighted — to join the Everton “family.”
In his last season at Barcelona, Eto’o weighed in with 36 goals including critical strikes in the Champions League title and final run in as the Catalans completed a historic treble.
He joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2009 and became the first player to win consecutive European continental trebles.
The former Barcelona and Inter Milan playear is a more than a sufficient partner to Romelu Lukaku.
