The success or failure of your workout regime depends on one thing and one thing alone: Food.

Yes, the food you eat will determine whether you succeed or fail in your exercise regimen. That is why it is important to eat smart. The foods that you do well to incorporate in your diet are as follows:

Green Tea

This has been described as the elixir of all foods. Green tea starves of Alzheimer’s and has antioxidant properties that basically ensure that the body is under no threat of diseases such as cancer. Green tea also speeds up your metabolism ensuring that you burn fat.


Meat, specifically red meat, has a bad reputation about it. The facts on red meat however should be highlighted: It is a rich source of Iron and Protein which are essential for muscle building. The only concern with meat is that the content of fat might be detrimental to your heart-always ensure that you get cuts that don’t have fat or better still meat that is fat free;


An apple a day keeps the doctor away and the importance of fruit cannot be gainsaid. A banana a day is good for the simple reason that it contains zinc. Zinc has muscle building properties but for a man zinc is all important for the simple reason that it builds up an unquenchable libido;

Olive oil

Olive oil is important in your diet for the simple reason that it contains mono saturated fat; this is far healthier than the poly saturated fats that are found in most butter and lard. Mono saturated fat is all important for the simple reason that it doesn’t line the arteries with plaque and occasion coronary heart diseases.
These are but some of the foods that you could incorporate in your diet as you work out. The list is by no means exhaustive but it gives a picture of what you should be doing to ensure success in your workout.
