Premier league leaders, Chelsea have confirmed their after season tour to Australia to celebrate in a postseason match against Sydney FC on 2nd June at ANZ stadium. This announcement came on Monday, a day after a scoreless draw against Arsenal.
The blues are currently the premier league champions elect, but the title will be confirmed by Sunday if they win a match against Leicester city and a home win against Crystal Palace.
In early April, Mourinho had pointed out about a trip being planned after winning the capital one cup and now with the premier league title. Tottenham will also play Sydney FC on 30th may on their post season Tour, but some international managers like Roy Hodgson, England boss are unhappy with the timing.
Gary Cahill, Chelsea defender and England star will be expected to feature in a friendly match between England and Ireland on 7th June. Mourinho however claimed that he will fully respect international release rules.
However, players ought to be made available about 48 hours prior to the friendly match. Mourinho told the club’s official page that they were pleased to announce their trip to Australia, for the first time in 40 years. Chelsea fans in Australia will be lucky to see their players play against their local team, Sydney FC.
