Bayern Munich maintain their unbeaten start to the season after beating Werder Bremen 6-0 in the Bundesliga. Phillip Lahm and Mario Goetze both scored a brace with Alonso and Mueller also scoring to give the Munich side the win in the Allianz Arena. Phillip Lahm opened the scoring in the 20th minute from a Thomas Mueller pass. Xabi Alonso then scored form a free kick to double the lead for the home side. Thomas Mueller scored from a penalty at the end of the first half to make it comfortable for the home side.

It was only a matter of how many goals the Champions would score from there. Mario Gotze got into the act after good play from David Alaba. Mario Gotze got his second of the match through a 25 yard strike to wrap up the win after Philip Lahm had scored from close range.

This Bayern Munich side have been playing some beautiful football this season and this match was the epitome of their performance this season. They now remain top of the Bundesliga table with 20 points after 8 rounds of fixtures. Borrusia Monchengladach, are second in the table and trail the leaders by 4 points. Last season’s runners up Dortmund linger in the 14th position with merely 7 points from 8 games.
