Following the departure of Xabi Alonso to Bayern Munich, Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, has delivered his opinion at a press conference.

Landed at Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 from Liverpool, Xabi Alonso decided to leave Spain to join Bayern Munich Pep Guardiola in recent days. Asked at a press conference, Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian technician manager, admitted that he was not expecting that from the midfielder.

“It was a surprise’ he said, “but it was very difficult to make him change his mind. He spoke with everyone and explained as to why he’s doing what he’s doing. He needed another challenge, it was very difficult to let him go, but his position is very well stocked. He was very honest with the club and to himself. ”

He also touches on the subject of possible signings: “I don’t need to bring in anyone, but if we feel there’s someone out there who could improve the squad, we’ll sign them”.
