Italian giants AC Milan have emerged as favourites to sign Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

AS Roma had earlier had a €28 million offer accepted by Orobici, but the Rossoneri have since matched said proposal.

Meanwhile, they have offered the midfielder a long-term deal worth €2 million per campaign, which is better than the Giallorossi’s proposal.

This is enough to suggest that it is AC Milan who now have the upper hand in the race for the player’s signature, although AS Roma are expected to make the counter offer.

Franck Kessie is one of Serie A’s most exciting prospects and he has enjoyed a thoroughly impressive season, bagging 6 goals in 28 appearances.

The 20-year-old is now set to cash in on his excellent showings and it only remains to be seen whether he will be moving to San Siro or Stadio Olimpico.
